This time last year...Now....and a Year forward

time really does fly....
a year back, just seems like yesterday....the new year had already set in for us....
i even remember us saying to each other one year back "dudes one year hence, we will celebrate the new year at our respective B Schools"
and Now....i laugh when i say "Dudes 1 year hence we will celebrate the new year at our respective work places"
its true when they say life turns a full circle...u always want to get to the diametric opposite side of it....and till you get there..u keep wondering how would it actually be.
it doesnt actually matter how far u have reached on that circle..one thing is for sure..
if u feel u can..then u will.
its up to u to enjoy the journey till then.
as for me.... :) ..i know i Will.

A wedding to remember...some memories to cherish

...long time since i wrote in.
its been quite a busy 15 days. had to dash to goa for an unforseen emergency..what would u say when the groom falls sick a week before the marriage...and also when the groom happens to be your own bro.
a week of wedding preparations by day and assignments by night...fortunately bro recovers in time..and the wedding is a blast....am eagery awaiting the wedding pics...got to check out some pretty faces again :)
i learnt that smiling to over 2k people, half of whom u dont even know, can be quite tolling on the cheeks.
the wedding also made me wonder as to how can one stand for so long greeting so many people..
some learnings i can incorporate in my wedding whenver that happens... :)
..as for now..bye from me..and back to isb days...!

QUAD...BOND

thats what everyone in my quad calls him..
i had always heard about true intelligence....actually happened to see some for the first time in my quadie.
Good News: he has been shortlisted for DB...
Reason: well if he would not have been, then who would have. i can just recall one small incident to substantiate this. O&F, one of the toughest subjects i have come across, well, we had its mid term over the week end. and there was this hand out of abt 20 odd pages which had nothing but derivations of something from the financial markets. all i had done was remember the formula. it was at abt 2 in the morning when i just casually went up to him. and he made me sit and look at his own set of derivations. i kept asking him, what was he doing...and all he said was just understand...he went on for abt 20 mins.....
at the end of it he came to some results...and when i went to look back, he had actually derived and co related all the toughest formulas that were there in the handout.
suddenly O&F actually made sense to me..
Wishes: Hope you make it dude....you deserve it.
well hoping he makes it through.........
i in the mean time will do something abt my Rural Mktg assignment on taking the cafe revolution to rural india...

Diwali..........I DO miss Goa!!!!!

...its diwali...so woke up early..not that i would do something constructive waking up early, but just cause i have always done so for diwali...
met a friend at breakfast, and the person happened to mention about blogs..thats when i remembered that i also do have one....Man...u have to be really dedicated to write this thing every day..i wonder how my quadie does it so religously...
its occassions like today that I miss Goa...and all my friends there..
The Narkasur nights(one before diwali)....we used to have a terrific time..after the fun part of the entire night, we used to somehow make it back to our homes at 6am, sleep.......and yet make it to receive all the guests from as early as 9am.
..it also used to be time well spent with my bro...this year though i bet he will be too preoccupied with his "to be wife"
as for me....i think this should be a good day to make some sense out of the O&F book!
(i wonder if i will get the same sound sleep over it as i used to from Bodie-Kane)

....i think i may have finally decided on my career.

has been a long day...morning doing nothing..an afternoon of an ENLIGHTENING ELP session...
but then the nice part of it...a talk by a MD dressed in denims.....who else but the head honcho of levi strauss....wasnt as great a talk as one would expect..but the man definitely did one thing...
after 6 months at ISB i think i have finally started strongly feeling towards marketing as a career....(it also seems as the most logical extension to my past work ex.)
the man made me feel that marketing apart from the hard work part of it was also fun and glam.and thats what entices me....i think i should realyy start focussing on this aspect from now on...
had to run back to my room to barely manage to send the elp bidding email on time...and then had to run back to attend the BCG workshop.....i do not know if i will ever get shortlisted to BCG...but a fact remains....this is a company that is really taking the pain in imparting value to students at ISB...i have never sat for 2 and a half hours at a stretch on the floor to listen to any one out of choice...
in the bargain i skipped dinner..but feasted on a colleagues Bday Cake...also dunked him...and got to carry his 6 month old daughter when his better half was getting dunked....
amazing....she was so tiny in my arms...i did not even know how to old her..so held her flat....thought that this would be the most comfortable way for her....unfortunately she did not think so.... :(
the good part is..i still have time before i carry my own :)

1.17 a.m........waiting for bidding results to b out...

...when will i learn to wake up...almost missed breakfast because of that..
kp returned 2day from delhi with his dowry bag..i at times keep wondering what he actually carries in it :)...(and whether he actually goes to delhi during the breaks..)
day was good...except for the O&F class part of it...i actually figured out today that if u twist the right knobs, the chair in class can turn into a flat bed..(took me 4 terms..but succeded finally)
the evening went in learning that 74% of india is rural...and also that punjabi women have a fascination for lipsticks.. :)
well i did not c any lipstick put on, when i checked the nearest punjabi lips (...well just for info sake...i had checked the lips when they had turned into a smile when a cute boy had walked late into the class :) )
all in all..it has been an eventfull day....with secrets of my quadies childhood hearththrob being brought to the light..to me discovering a squashed lizard in between the windows( i wonder when i did that).................
well have to say quits for the day...have a long night ahead .....i have to keep logging into my blog whole night long to increase the hit count number... :)
